The Mudgee Area
Mudgee is the Australian Aboriginal word for ‘nest in the hills’. Viticulture began here in 1858 when Germans immigrants planted the first vines. Mudgee has a lot to offer wine lovers, its an ideally positioned viticultural district, elevated between 470m-1080m and nestled deep in the western slopes of the Blue Mountains.

Character and Complexity
The wine barrel was traditionally used for storage and transportation of goods. Now it’s almost exclusively used in the production of fine wines and spirits. The French Oak Barrel imparts rich, sweet coconuty, vanillin characters to the wine. The six to twelve months in the oak adds body and complexity, melding wonderfully with the generous and supple sweet berry fruit flavours of Shiraz. The Chardonnays are lightly oaked to give length and balance to the palate.
